Promoting “The Meadow” — a 600-page novel co-authored and took two and a half years to write

“The Meadow” – a great love story

“With all things and in all things, we are relatives” — Lakota (Sioux)

“The Meadow” — a novel of 600 pages

This is all about “The Meadow”. I will be describing how it came to be written. This is a painting which was commissioned to celebrate the completion of the novel. Now it awaits for that right opportunity where it can bring its message to the world. The story is as unique, as the characters are special.

The painting isn’t meant to give the impression that it is the book cover. You can see that further down the page. However, it IS meant to convey the feeling and energy that was behind the two authors as they wrote this tale of love and devastation that covered many thousands of years.

The Meadow seeks recognition

Publication of a great story is only the beginning. Now it has to find its rightful place amongst the bookshelves with all the other fantastic works of fiction. This can only happen when it is brought into people’s awareness.

“The Meadow” has taken two and a half years to write and the authors do not intend for it to take that long to gain momentum as it reaches public scrutiny.

We rely on the power of the Internet and the tools which are available to us.

There are many potential readers out there and using the right approach by using this facility will go a long way to helping us achieve our goals.

The physical meadow versus the celestial watering hole called “The Meadow”

Which would you choose?

Right is a beautiful photo of a real meadow somewhere. Once you begin to read “The Meadow” your mind will possibly take you to another world and let you experience a meadow from another dimension — a celestial watering hole where souls go to rest between physical lives.
Observe the painting painting below and see what conjures in the minds of the two authors who wrote “The Meadow”.

The Feathers

One from an eagle and the other from an owl

This is how the story begins, with a legend, where two tail feathers are cast from an eagle and an owl in an aerial display.
Right is a close up depicting them in the painting of “The Meadow”. and below are the real feathers, framed to celebrate the completion of “The Meadow”.

Well, here I am at last. As you can see from the photo here, I work from home in my office. I have written many ariticles, some of them being published.
However, “TheMeadow” is the first novel and thanks to my writing partner, Elfreda, it’s now finished and waiting for the public to realise how marketable it is.
I’ll be proving that all in good time, along with a lot of interested people who will hopefully read this and express their desire to read the published article.
I am of the opinion that a good blog is one that captures the reader’s attention immediately. Most good blogs are about sharing information of some kind such as advice, self-help guiding, tips, recipes and so on. So does a damn good read fit into this category as well, even though there is no real practical help offered? I sincerely hope so, because this is the category into which I fall into.
What I propose here is to share with you a part of my life which has lead me to co-write “TheMeadow” that took almost two and a half years to complete. The background behind this is most extraordinary and it is this that I hope will interest you.

Everything that we say and do in life is as the result of a thought. In fact, let me give you the order in which we express ourselves by way of our five physical senses. First of all there is a feeling; something that wells up in us from deep within our innermost being. We can’t explain this because it is something that does not enter our conscious awareness. From this feeling there stirs a desire. Again, this is not a conscious thing so we have no idea yet what is going on inside of us.

Once the desire emotion has consumed us, it is this which leads to a thought. As I mentioned earlier, we can only express ourselves via our five physical senses. These are the sense of sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste. There is no other way in which we can do this — at least in the physical world.

A thought is that which manifests into word or deed. It can be anything at all. Your speech and language comes from the thought. Everything that you do and create is as a result of a thought. Take a look around you. Once you have separated nature, everything else is the result of a thought first. The chair you are sitting on was a thought before it was created. There are no exceptions, including the greatest and largest of creations by mankind like the Great Wall of China for example.

It is a sad fact of life that thoughts are imposed upon us by others us from the day we are born. We are conditioned into thinking certain ways, and each and every one of us is guilty of this. Where and how we live is due to the conditioning that has consumed us over our lives. First of all, we are heavily influenced by our parents in how they interact with us. This is the foundation for all events that follow. Once we reach kindergarten and on to education, we are well and truly inducted into thinking the way that society intended. Not only are we indoctrinated by our teachers and the system that governs them, but also by our peers. By the time we reach our teen and twenty years, the social element of our lives is that which fits the lid.

It will take a mammoth leap in faith to undo all of this conditioning. Even though we feel that matters are not right with ourselves and the world around us, there is still that intellectual part of us, our ego, that will ensure that we don’t get past the conscious state of ‘reasoning’.

The reason why I am explaining of all this is to gradually lead you into the story of how I came to co-write “TheMeadow”. It is a beautiful novel which is designed to convey a very profound message and also to help plant a seed that will help change your way of thinking towards curiosity and away from doubt and scepticism which, let’s face it, is the result of your conditioning.

Overview of “TheMeadow”: Professor Steve Ballantire’s ordered life unravels when MI6 springs Hugo, the brilliant child of a missing English diplomat, from Tel Aviv to Northeast England. The boy becomes his protégée, but the mother who is the wife to the diplomat, becomes his dilemma, when he cannot deny his attraction to her or the inexplicable feeling that they know each other. Tensions rise dramatically when a nemesis, somehow connected to their history and in pursuit of more than just the gifted child, leaves a trail of dead bodies behind while tracking Eva and Hugo to England.

The first book in a set of two, “TheMeadow” is an epic love story involving four past lives where the lovers fail to bond, leaving them with only one option, to re-unite in the Meadow, a celestial waterhole that exists between lives. Across centuries and continents, from ancient Mexica to contemporary Pakistan, the story involves international espionage and intrigue.

The devious abduction of Eva to the Himalaya Mountains drives past and present into a vortex of retribution, forcing Steve to confront the nemesis who had torn them apart for lifetimes. Will he succeed in bringing to an end their previous failures to unite?

The origins of this story began with a simple idea, hence the reason for my introducing this concept to you earlier. This idea was carried by a thought which, in turn, was created through a desire. But where and how did the feeling begin to manifest? I’ve often asked myself this question ever since it was planted more than 40 years ago. It started off with my visualising a person who was born into the world with a mission to accomplish but could not be achieved through one lifetime. Then the idea began to gain momentum and soon there were two people until a full blown storyline had evolved.

I have explained how all this developed from a simple idea and then this lead me to meet my co-writer, who actually pleaded with me to get this idea into manuscript format, in an e-book which will be available soon. Right now, it’s important that I attempt to gain contact from interested parties who can send their email expressing to learn more about “TheMeadow” and how they can obtain the publication.

The e-book will explain in detail how natural laws dictated how I reached my present situation. This description of my ‘travels’ is encapsulated in an article titled “The long and mystical journey of the soul.” We all have our journey so wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could try and understand how we evolve throughout life?

You need to give your close attention to these two people

Meet Teuch and Anacaona

Teuch and Anacaona, the likes the world has never seen. They were meant to find each other over and over again.
Born into antiquity, these two souls were meant to forge a milestone in human endeavour.
They found true and everlasting love which, when their earthly lives ran dry, they found that it continued in the perfect world which mirrors the earth.
Still with their purpose unfulfilled, they found solace in The Meadow, a celestial watering hole where souls go to rest in betwe en physical lives.
They were meant to live again and again and, in the course of doing so, would bring to the world hope and dreams that life is eternal.
In the beginning they found each other. They also found Spethla, their trusted steed, who follows them through all incarnate adventures in this troubled world.

Some of the locations used in “The Meadow”

Get a feel for the story when you see some of the locations that are used

All the places mentioned in “The Meadow” are real, even Thorp Pelkington which you will not find on a map no matter how detailed. Here are just some of them. Watch out for more in other lenses.
To the right are the snowy mountain peaks of the Himalayas, a scene where great violence is committed against this bleak backdrop.
The above scene is one which is typical of the lower mountain regions where our monk Chong-ba resides.
A little higher, just below the snows that smother the Himalayan tips, lies his cabin — remotely tucked away above a rocky gorge which figures in “The Meadow” toward the latter stages.

Having never met, we completed a 188,000-word work of fiction

It’s strange how things turn out isn’t it? I’ll bet there are many readers who can relate to a coming-together with someone which just appeared to have happened out of the blue.
I don’t believe in coincidences, in fact I think there is no such thing. Everything we do and plan in life seems to have been organised from a level from which we have very little understanding.
Take Elfreda here for example. That’s her personal logo above, by the way. We were both minding our own business, being an ocean and five thousand miles between us, when this happens: Total strangers somehow get chatting over the internet due to very ‘coincidental’ circumstances. Before we know, we are discovering so much in common that it becomes almost frightening. In time and after I have shared an idea I have had in my head for many years, we decide to give substance to this idea and, together, create a magnificent love story.
As you know, I’m trying to promote “The Meadow”. For some reason, both Elfreda and myself are convinced that it had to be written. It’s a story with a very important message. By example, it demonstrates how life should be lived to its fullest. Although it is a work of fiction, there are many parables throughout the storyline which run parallel to true life.

When something is written to impress on someone how life should be really lived, it sends alarm bells ringing elsewhere. This novel was not meant to be an imposition. On the contrary, we all have our beliefs and it will take some convincing to change that. What we have written came from the heart and it was meant to get people thinking. In short, we have attempted to plant the seed of curiosity. Once people start thinking for themselves and asking questions, it becomes very threatening to those who choose to control.

Those halcion days enjoyed by the Establishment for thousands of years is about to come to an end. Don’t take my word for it. Just take a look around you. Thirty years ago, folk would have been hard pressed to discuss such subjects as reincarnation. Even today, to some religions, it is extremely blasphemous to even contemplate such an idea. But today how things have changed.

It is estimated that the world population will rise from the current 6.5 billion to 9.1 billion by the year 2025. Virtually all the growth will be in the developing world; developed nations remaining fairly static at 1.2 billion. The resulting imbalance will reverberate around the globe and will be felt by every man, woman and child on both sides of the divide.

There’s a simple solution to address this imbalance but there is a tiny fraction of the world population, only in their hundreds or thousands, who are determined that chaos must transcend natural order.

When Emperor Constantine, in 312AD, granted the newly-formed Christian Church legal status to acquire and commercially transfer property for monetary gain, a whole new mindset was born. The scribes and priests of the day were given carte blanche to change history in the name of a new world order. Old customs and cultural habits were replaced with doctrinal reforms and empowered by armies that grew with every conquest.

And so the military and ecclesiastic hierarchy formed a liaison that would spread its order far and wide. Change was forced on humanity with the extermination of those who would not conform. Direct descendants, students and followers of this regime would move through rivers of blood in their quest to see that dogma and creed would replace truth, and the god given right of every soul to express itself would be denied.

This is the world we know today where a handful of misguided souls pull the strings of every government of every nation. Conditioning becomes the order of the day delicately disguising the imposition where so-called guidance is handed to us to point the way to prosperity and progress.

The part of our nature which desires to share is that which the present-day regime intends to keep in chains. Personal responsibility is frowned upon whereby governments and organisations exist that can do the thinking for us. Profit and greed becomes the driving force and we see the results of their efforts materialise through the chaos of a deteriorating world.

However, as the simple atom will prove, there is constant change going on all around us and a controlling and imposing mindset is no exception to this rule. The common denominator that binds all things is love; love on a scale that transcends personal attachment and forms the basis for all things on heaven and on earth to move forward.

Love in its purest form is unconditional, but in order to help move mountains in a physical world, it must disguise itself and allow its energy to unfold and separate and become self manifest as it encourages the lion to lie down with the lamb.

Such love, on a scale so powerful as to ask man to make his peace with his fellow man and savour the earth, is rare. But it does exist and when the time is right it will exert its influence to bring new awareness to a troubled world and select two energies – two souls – that are prepared to suffer the wrath of a violent order which will test the very essence of their existence. That time is now.

Two evolving people are presented to you to share their lives and their unbinding love for one another. Enemies are legion and their only crime is to exist. Such is a tale where evil supports only the negative polarity of the human psyche. There is so much more that is capable of bonding mind, body and spirit; thus helping to dissolve the differences that divide a world in conflict.

The story of “The Meadow” describes how such negativity is overcome and leaves a message of true hope for the future world and all of its inhabitants.

It is my intention to raise interest here and ask people to enquire more about “The Meadow.” In due course I will be submitting a link that will allow you to send your emails, expressing to learn more about this story, where to find it and how it could help change your life.

Explaining how The Meadow is to be marketed

A frank interview with Mike O’Hare, co-author of The Meadow outlining his plans for their story to reach a wide readership.

The Meadow is an Epic Love Story Involving Four Past Lives. I’ve just completed co-authoring a novel of more than 600 pages; a huge venture which took more than two and a half years to complete. My writing partner is Elfreda Pretorius and, would you believe, we never met until the book had been completed. How it all started is a long story and I shall be explaining all of this in detail as I progress. Watch out for The Meadow.

Watch out for my personal avatar

The Phoenix rising from the ashes combined with an outline of a female’s head

In 1986 I was under a great deal of stress. My mother was dying of cancer and I was undergoing horrendous business relationships with my equal partner.
My mother died, coinciding with my decision to go it alone and break the partnership and form a new business.
I commemorated this by designing this emblem/logo in memory of my late mother and in recognition of a new start in business.
It has remained with me ever since and has accompanied many articles that I have written, as well as being the company logo that accompanied all business administration.

“Sparrow in my hand” is the personal Avatar of my writing partner, Elfreda.
Drawn by her son, it commemorates a turning point in her life when that same son, at the age of seven, overcame life threatening injuries sustained in an accident.
This is his vision of his mother as a little girl, wondering how to save a baby sparrow that fell from its nest – the same way she wondered how to help him survive all those years ago.
“Sparrow in my hand” is the book of his healing they intend to write in the near future.
